AIESEC Fun time activities: A good year
Heidi Clee
Anyone will probably tell you that the most important thing about being a part of AIESEC, is not getting a better CV but meeting new people from different backgrounds and cultures and having a fun and relaxing time with them. AIESECers love to party and mark the calendar with different occasions the whole year around.
The autumn starts with the traditional LAS-cottage weekend at Partiokolkka. It is a local AIESEC seminar which introduces the organisation to the newies. At the cottage old and new AIESECers meet and have a great time playing games, singing and sharing stories and anecdotes. During the weekend you can also go to the sauna. Best of all though is that it is completely optional, though highly recommended and free of charge, so you can make your LAS weekend as memorable as you want to!

The Pre-Christmas party is another event you might not want to miss. There is a lot of delicious food, gifts are exchanged, carols are sung and there is something for everyone who wants to get into the Christmas spirit. During this festivity AIESEC also likes to reward AIESECers for their hardwork and cooperation.

In the spring you are cordially invited to the LAS-cottage weekend once more and if you are not a newie, you'll have even more fun than last time. Heading towards March, the EB elections are the next event which will give you a better chance to get to know the smiling faces of the next executive board members. Remember to bring your own pen and vote for the person that you would like to see get soaked. It will be a splashing moment you will not want to forget! Unless of course, it's you.
Heading towards summer most AIESECers are looking forward to going abroad for their holidays or then just looking for a job that actually pays, so for the most part everyone is heading in their own directions. But, even during the summer events are planned to make sure that those staying behind will have a good time.

AIESEC wants to give everyone the opportunity of having a wonderful time and a chance to make many new friends alongside learning and studying. AIESEC also wants to make sure you are well taken care of during the different seminars and conferences making time even then for some fun. Unofficial BiWeekly meetings have also been arranged for every other week to provide time for togetherness and enjoyment. Each team further arranges non-compulsory meetings with their team members, sometimes at a restaurant, sometimes at an apartment –anywhere. Some teams like to play board games, some like to have coffee and tea. So whenever you want to go anywhere and have fun, just check your email for future events and run. AIESEC waits for no one , when it comes to start having fun.
In addition to these events, there are also many other fun activities arranged at short notice. Past events have, for example, been a well cultured evening with food and a presentation of Costa Rica in last year's Costa Rica Show. Recently another new member all the way from India was welcomed with a small get-together at an AIESECer's apartment and often AIESEC likes to go to Pub Anneli for a karaoke night of fun.
If you are still not convinced that you can have lots of fun with us, then make your way to the AIESEC office in MaD and put up your own suggestions on the poster for what would be for you a great time!
